ORT AMERICA EVENTS


ORT America's Inaugural International Major Gifts Gala Reception will be held at The Breakers Hotel (One South County Road, Palm Beach, Florida 33480) Sunday, February 26. It begins at 6:00 PM. The gala will honor those remarkable individuals who have shown an unparalleled dedication to ORT's long-standing commitment to education. Daniel and Meryle Verner (Boca Raton, FL) serve as Gala Co-Chairs to this high-style evening celebrating ORT's mission to "Educate and Elevate." The evening's featured guest speaker will be His Excellency Ambassador Ron Prosor, Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations. The cost for the Major Gifts Gala = $250.

The ORT America 2012 Annual Meeting, Monday, February 27, 2012, 10:00 AM (includes continental breakfast and lunch) will take place at the Kravis Center Cohen Pavilion, Salons A & B, 701 Okeechobee Boulevard, West Palm Beach, Florida 33401. The cost is $65 (includes continental breakfast and lunch). The Honorable Toby Feuer is Event Chair. The meeting serves as a continuation of our annual tradition to congregate supporters, nationwide, and preview highlights from our programs. This year, ORT is celebrating its 90th anniversary in America, with demonstrations from students and programs represented in Latin America, Israel and the U.S.

DKJA's 28th Gala & Auction


Donna Klein Jewish Academy's 28th Gala and Auction will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. at the Polo Club Boca Raton. Proceeds from the entertainment-filled event, highlights of which includes both live and silent auctions, will benefit the school's academic and athletic programs and provide need-based financial assistance. The theme this year will be Sunset in the Wild West. Special honoree this year will be Middle School Principal Carol Kolsky, who will retire at the end of the 2011-2012 academic year after a significant 18 years of educating and guiding bright young minds. The letters from the Jewish alphabet that represent the word "life" -- Chai -- numerically add up to 18 in the Hebrew alphabet. The symbol of Chai is considered one of good luck and well wishes. Mrs. Kolsky's retirement this year has special meaning as she retires after an enriching 18 years at DKJA. She will be honored with the Linda R. Kaminow Visionary Leadership Award at the Gala. Gala Chairs are Scott and Dana Ball.. The cost to attend DKJA's Gala is $150 per-person. Guests will dine, dance, and bid on live and silent auction items at the Gala.
Last year's Gala generated more than $400,000. RELAY FOR KIDS


A local pastor and his team that are putting together the 1st Annual Relay 4KIDS at West Boca High School. Pastor Tye Ritter of Calvary Chapel West Boca is also a foster parent and college professor. The event will be on Saturday, April 21st from 11am to 5pm.

Relay 4Kids is a daytime youth event bringing awareness of the modern day crisis facing orphans and children in foster care while raising funds to help kids in South Florida. Relay 4Kids brings inspiring speakers, live music, fun games, food and competitions, and the stories of real people to help youth make a difference in the lives of other children and youth in our community. They are seeking youth bands, relay teams, business sponsors/vendors and volunteers. Help them make the difference in the lives of children in South Florida. WALK FOR FRIENDSHIP


IWalk4Friendship is an annual fundraiser for the Friendship Circle of North Broward & South Palm Beach, an organization that services children with special needs and their families. The 3k walk will take place on Sunday, April 22nd 2012, at Pine Trails Park & Amphitheatre, 10555 Park Trails, Parkland, FL 33076.

Registration begins at 9:00am, with the opening ceremony and start of the walk at 10:00am. Following the walk will be FREE family friendly rides, FREE food and FREE entertainment. Registration is free and every registered walker will receive a complimentary IWalk4Friendship t-shirt.

GOLF TOURNAMENT TO HELP KATRINA SURVIVORS


On Thursday, April 26th, 2011 the Patron Spirits Company will host its 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Country Club of Coral Springs, benefitting the St. Bernard Project ~ Rebuilding the Homes & Lives of Katrina Survivors in New Orleans.
